Slayer’s eleventh studio release, World Painted Blood was the last album to feature the band’s original lineup including guitarist Jeff Hanneman, and drummer Dave Lombardo. World Painted Blood’s tracks evoked imagery of death and destruction, war, serial killers, and the Apocalypse. "Hate Worldwide" and "World Painted Blood" were both nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 52nd and 53rd Grammy Awards respectively. The album featured four different covers, which, when put together, formed a map of the world made of blood and bones.
