DAY IN THE DIRT

DAY IN THE DIRT

On August 19, 1984, Slayer took the stage at Berkeley's Aquatic Park for the Sunday show of the Eastern Front festival, famously known as "Day in the Dirt." The lineup also featured Suicidal Tendencies, Exodus, Blue Cheer, Road Runner, and O.T.B.A. The four-day thrash festival became the stuff of legend. Tom Araya recalled,"As the evening grew darker, truck headlights subbed for spotlights. It was definitely a great day in the park!”
