HEAVY SOUND

HEAVY SOUND

On May 26, 1985, Slayer played their first show overseas at the Heavy Sound Festival in Belgium. It was the largest show they had done up to that point, and the band was blown away by the number of people there to see them. Tour manager and friend Doug Goodman recounted what happened when the band before Slayer finished their set, expecting to perform an encore: "The whole crowd starts chanting 'Slayer'...and basically chanted them off stage." It was clear - Slayer had officially arrived in Europe.
