By April 19, 1985, the tour, now called The Ultimate Revenge Tour, saw Venom, Slayer, and Exodus delivering punishing sets across the U.S. The Hollywood Palladium show brought the tour to Slayer’s backyard, and with that came the energy, emotion, and pressure of playing for your own people. This entry lists a who's who of family and close friends slated to attend, from the Arayas (ten strong) to the Lombardos, the Kings, and the ever-expanding Slayer crew.
Gary Holt (then of Exodus) recalled, “The crowds were awesome. We were playing theaters and stuff; the last show of the tour, I believe, was the Hollywood Palladium. I remember rolling into town and our van was just billowing smoke like a dragon.”
